Dissolution of Marriage
Studies have shown that divorce is one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. Unfortunately, the victims of divorce are too often the children of the marriage. At the Gulf Coast Legal Group, our goal is threefold:  to help you navigate your divorce with dignity, to protect the best interests of your children, and to aggressively preserve your assets.

Modifications of Parenting Plans
A parenting plan entered into at the time of dissolution of marriage may become unworkable when circumstances change. Sometimes a parent moves, or the income of one parent changes drastically, or the children develop unexpected needs. When these changes occur, it is crucial to modify your parenting plan so that both parents have a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities. We can assist you in reaching a parenting plan that is in the best interest of your children while protecting your parental rights.

Paternity
In Florida, the biological father of a child born out of wedlock is not automatically considered the legal father. We can help you establish your parental rights and secure your relationship with your child by bringing a paternity action on your behalf.

Domestic Violence
The State of Florida provides for victims of domestic violence, stalking, dating violence, and sexual violence to obtain civil injunctions that prohibit contact between them and the offending party.

If you are a victim of any type of violence, it is imperative that you present the proper evidence to the Judge. Too often, victims of violence are denied injunctions because they do not understand the evidentiary procedures. We can assist you in preparing your case so that you will be granted the protection you need.

If you are accused of domestic violence in injunction court, it is important that you realize that a civil injunction can inhibit your ability to have contact with your children and to legally possess a firearm. An injunction can also expose you to criminal arrest if you have any kind of contact with the accusing party. You need an attorney to bring a defense on your behalf, to protect your rights.
